A full day tour that offers you visits to the most favorite places in and around Yogyakarta. The first object to visit is Borobudur temple, located 42 km north west of Yogyakarta, a 8th century Mahayana Buddhist monument comprises six square platforms topped by three circular platforms symbolize the levels of Buddhist cosmology and is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. Either pre-dawn or early morning trip to this site is worth taking, for those in search for tranquility and and much refreshing atmosphere or an alternative for stress-reducing gateway. Followed by Prambanan, the mighty 9th century Hindu shrines complex with an extended visit to the Sewu temples group located close by. Next, drive to the town, Sultan palace (literally Kraton) in Javanese language. It is its structure and ornamentation are rich of Java’s symbolic meanings. Adjacent to the Kraton building, Ngasem traditional bird market has been dubbed as the oldest market in Yogyakarta region. Right behind the market, Tamansari complex, one of the remaining recreational spots used by royal family in the past. Once, said it was built on a small island with an artificial lake around it. Newly renovated main buildings with high wall, ruin of some water tunnels and a viewer point can be seen here. Further visit to complete the trip are Batik and Silver industry in Kotagede.
