Functioned both as a shrine and a pilgrimage place, Borobudur temple, the 8th century Buddhist monument built on a bedrock hill of 265 meter (869 ft) above sea level. It is a also located in the area between two twin volcanoes Sindoro-Sumbing and Merbabu-Merapi and two rivers the Progo and The Elo. according to the local myth, the area known as Kedu plain is Javanese ‘sacred place’ and has been dubbed as ‘the garden of Java’.
This program offers you both cultural and exciting adventure experience in and around the area of Borobudur. The ideal time to take this trip is in the early morning, whether for enjoying Sunrise or just having a regular visit to Borobudur temple. As an extra, visit Pawon and Mendut temple situated in one straight line with Borobudur, of which structure and ornamentation are similar and derived from the same period of construction. Next, proceed to Blondo village, a starting point for a safe and fun-filled adventure at 2,5 hours white water rafting activity in the grade II and III Elo river.
