Dieng Plateau – Dieng name from Sanskrit as “Ardi” means beautiful and Hyang means high, so the Dieng plateau tells us about the beautiful winsome as the place of the gods and goddesses residing. So Dieng means mountainous area where the gods and goddesses lived. Dieng is a village in the district and bordering counties Kejajar Banjarnegara. This area is located approximately 26 kilometers north of the town of Wonosobo.
On the left and right of the road looked stunning scenery. As we approached the village of Dieng, the lower the temperature and make sure you are wearing a jacket. So cold that sometimes can reach several degrees Celsius. Sometimes the fresh scent of a vague colored sulfur smell, especially around the crater Dieng.
In that area there are indeed many craters are still active. From a distance, the mountain peaks Dieng looked like a broken thereby leaving the heavily cratered terrain. That is why Dieng named with a plain above the mountains.
Dieng plateau region is one of the mainstay tourism Wonosobo district. Tourism objects not merely the plateau itself, but on the sidelines that there are numerous attractions in the form of objects in the form of natural and cultural heritage of the past.
